School uniforms have a lot to be said for them. They are a great leveller in terms of status (in that kids of wealthier families dress just the same as children from less well off parents), and they introduce a degree of conformity to a school, which helps to reinforce the identity of the pupils as members of the school. Wearing specific school clothes, rather than adopting a looser dress code, also means that there is a minimum level of smartness expected. However, there is a downside to uniforms, and that is cost and hassle when it comes to acquiring them. A London schoolwear supplier that sells clothes online can therefore make a great difference when it comes to that time of year again – or more regularly, if your children are growing fast.
Kids are often happy to go out and buy clothes, so long as they are clothes they want to wear. The difficulty is that school clothes aren’t particularly exciting, and there’s no motivation to get the job done. This inevitably means that it gets left to the last minute, and then there’s a mad rush as the family runs around the high street, trying to buy all the new clothes you need before the new term begins. Worse, it’s not just your family, so the relevant shops are packed with (usually) mothers and their children, all searching for clothes that no one really wants to spend any time chasing after. It’s the standard end-of-holiday nightmare, that looming drag that comes after weeks of rest and recreation (or, alternatively, the crowning misery after weeks of having the house overrun by noisy kids).
The online London schoolwear supplier can bypass many of the problems that come with buying school clothes by the traditional routes. So long as you have the relevant measurements (which you can even find by looking at the labels on those clothes you know do fit well), you can order all the school uniforms you need over the internet, without even setting foot in the crowded shops of the high street. Of course, there are some bits you may need to buy in person; some people are wary about buying shoes online, for example, although if you’re confident enough about what you want then these are also available over the internet. But that’s just one trip, rather than a day – or days – of traipsing around the shops, wishing you hadn’t put it off for quite so long this time.

If you are in charge of any size of business, you will know that one of the most infuriating scenarios is when the IT system goes down, usually at precisely the worst moment; the day of the major sales pitch, hours before a vital deadline or just as you try to access information for a valued client. Just as most of us don’t service the cars we drive any more, few of us understand our IT systems in enough detail to fix faults ourselves. Set against this, hiring a full-time IT officer can be pricey, especially for small and medium-sized businesses. Thankfully, when it comes to computer support London is well served with an army of specialist businesses dedicated to offering IT support London being the business hub that it is, it makes sense that this niche market has grown to effectively provide “in-house” quality support from off the premises.
What services is it possible to buy in then and what questions should you be asking when you look for an IT support provider? Whether you need advising on new software or hardware, installation of these key elements or an ongoing servicing package, it’s smart to look at a company who can provide a start-to-finish service. In other words, it makes sense to have a company who can advise on, install and then maintain your kit, even if you initially only need part of this process.comp
It also makes good business sense to hire an outfit that isn’t tied to one particular software or hardware provider who might or might not offer the solutions you need for your business at a price you are prepared to pay. Far better an unbiased provider who can recommend what will work for you without having their eye on a kickback from higher up the chain. Impartiality is vital, especially if the software or hardware needed in your area is quite specialist.
A fast response is essential on those occasions when everything snarls up at the key moment, particularly if you don’t have permanent computer support London is well served in this area. Although these days the vast majority of problems can be solved over the phone or by remote access (FWCS IT support, for example, say they can fix 98% of faults over the phone and, as a bonus, your call is directly handled by an engineer), there will always be scenarios where an on-site visit is required. This is when a local company or one with a local presence comes into its own, offering quick and reliable IT support London again offers the best array of localised IT support but this is a phenomenon which, in an IT-dependent era, is starting to roll out to other big cities around the country.

The organic way in which many firms evolve means that growing companies do not always have the processes in place that they need to minimise error and waste. One normal area for problems is in the accounts department, where duplicate payments and other mistakes – and even fraud – can chip away at your bottom line, decreasing profit margins. Whereas the accounts may be unchallenging to keep track of for a new company, as your business grows you may find that the systems you put in place are no longer ideal, and that inefficiencies result – often with unfortunately serious consequences. An accounts payable audit can reveal just how serious; if the error rate is as high as even two percent, then using recovery audit software could mean the difference between turning a healthy profit and getting into real difficulties – or worse. Either way, it’s a good way of making sure you’re only paying what you should, and that people are paying you the right amount, too.
Discrepancies and mistakes are a fact of life, of course, and it’s all but impossible to get rid of these entirely without help. This becomes more serious when the errors are due not to actual mistake but deliberate fraud, when individuals give you incorrect invoices and expense slips with the hope of making money at your expense; this is plainly unacceptable, from a legal, moral or business point of view. Fortunately, such events can be vastly reduced or even eliminated by the use of the right kind of software and controls, which check your accounts for likely problems and implement procedures to stop this kind of issue from happening in the first place. Some experts suggest that most companies are likely to have an error rate of 0.1 percent, with other believing the rate is much larger. Needless to say, the bigger the company, the greater the absolute amount of money this represents.
recovery audit software will help demonstrate where the problems are, including pinpointing duplicate payments – one common area of overpayment. This is really the only sensible way of ensuring that your accounts are accurate and that your systems are making the most of your firm, since simple human error – and dishonesty – and the sheer time cost of checking through all the accounts would otherwise be prohibitive. If you don’t already have such software and systems in place, then an accounts payable audit is likely to highlight just how beneficial this could be.

Cash Genie is a payday loans company designed to give people a bit of room in their budget – typically just for a month, so that they have time to sort things out before their next pay cheque comes in. Often it’s the case that our wallets get a little stretched (and none more so than at this time of year), and – even though we know there’s enough money in the long run – the cash-flow situation over the next few weeks is looking a little dicey. Christmas is a time when a lot of people go into debt, and for some that can mean some fairly concerning letters through the post box in January. It’s too easy to lose track, and even if you know you’ll be okay when your next wages are paid, that’s not always a lot of comfort when there’s nothing in your account now, and your creditors are shouting for money and threatening all kinds of action if you don’t pay up.
These are the situations for which short-term loan companies exist. The companies should lend responsibly (and you should borrow responsibly – don’t be tempted to ask for any more than you need, as you’ll only have to pay that back, with interest, too). In practice, this means that they carry out a speedy but thorough check on your application to make sure that you’re likely to be able to repay the loan. Then they give you the money instantly. There’s no messing around, once your application has been approved the money is transferred to your account. The service can be expedited, or otherwise it will take the standard BACS time of three days or so to come through.
Cash Genie is pretty usual in charging thirty percent per month, and loans are only granted for one month. This is a short-term solution, and therefore can’t be compared with the sort of loan you’d take out from your bank – or even a cash advance on a credit card. These typically come in at something between 10 and 30 percent per annum, whereas grossed up for the year, 30 percent per month works out at 2,623 percent per annum: a vast amount. What you’re really paying here, however, is a flat fee for the use of the money for the month. It’s a one-off: don’t be tempted to roll it over and treat it like a yearly loan.

It is frequently announced by insightful people that there is more to life than money, but there is no ignoring the fact that a shortage of money can be extremely concerning and have a significant negative impact on people’s lives. Finding a magic lamp, rubbing it, and having a Cash Genie appear to resolve your financial difficulties is a dream, and impractical. There are, however, a number of ways through which the stresses and strains which can be caused by a lack of funds can be alleviated. The resolution of such monetary difficulties can then enable people to focus on those things which are really important in leading an enjoyable and satisfying life.
The central thing to remember when thinking about your finances is to draw up a budget and to stick to it. Sometimes, however, there can be unforeseen expenses which disrupt even the best laid plans. One option if this happens to you is to take a short-term loan. If you do choose to do this you should always use a reputable firm and never a loan shark. Through a reputable company you can arrange a short-term loan for the amount you need while you reorganise your finances to meet the unexpected expense. This can be a useful course of action if, for example, you know that your next pay cheque will arrive shortly, but you need money quickly to meet a sudden, but important, expense or to avoid going overdrawn.
Searching for such companies on the internet will reveal examples of the ways in which short-term loans can be arranged. Often you need only to give your details (including home address and banking information) to get access to a small loan. It is rare for these companies to check your credit rating as part of the process of arranging a loan, so if you have a very poor rating, for whatever reason, this can be a very useful facility. The important thing to be aware of, however, is that if you fail to repay the loan by the agreed deadline it is likely that your credit rating will be adversely affected, even if the amount you owe is only a very small sum.
If you frequently find that you need to borrow money to meet your financial obligations each month then other loan programs or financial advice are likely to be more beneficial. The good thing about a short-term loan is that, like a Cash Genie, it can provide a quick (if temporary) solution to a brief shortage of cash.

In the current economic climate much is made of the difficulty of getting into graduate jobs or onto a graduate scheme. There are, of course, other avenues open for those people who have recently left university that may still lead to the job offer and outcome that is desired. Internship jobs, for example, can sometimes lead to offers of full employment at the end of them. The main thing is to deeply research your options and make full use of the resources available to you. Not only will this help you find an enjoyable job much more speedily, it will also help you to stay in a positive and proactive frame of mind.
Internships can be extremely good experiences for people who have recently left university. Provided the terms of the internship are not taking advantage of the intern, they can permit recent graduates the chance to develop skills that employers will find appealing and to build-up the business awareness that they may not have gained during three years studying at university. Even if you, as a recent graduate, already have the skills and business knowledge that employers are looking for, doing an internship can enable you to demonstrate that you possess these qualities.
Since you will very likely be competing for the job against a large number of other graduates, both from your own graduation year and from previous years, it is important to give yourself the best possible chance of being taken-on by the company for the position that you have applied for. This means brushing-up your interview technique and being able to talk confidently about the ways in which you meet or exceed the requirements for the role. Again, doing an internship can help demonstrate that you are committed to the sector in which you want to work and work well in a business or office environment.
Conversely, doing an internship might also demonstrate to you that you do not enjoy the work you had hoped to do and would be better-off exploring other options. Internships are handy because they allow you to try out a number of different options without making a long term commitment.
Getting accepted on to a graduate scheme is one way to be trained in the career you hope to follow, but internship jobs can also be very rewarding and allow you to build up your network of contacts and your range of experience to succeed when you do finally get hired for one of the graduate jobs that you have applied for.

Travelling around the country, and even the world, may be a thing of the past, as companies are increasingly embracing video conferencing technology in order to arrange meetings. As new technology seems to improve our lives in minor ways every day, busy professionals are finding that audio visual conferencing saves them significant amounts of time and money. At the more sophisticated end of the market, with technology such as telepresence video conferencing, it can be the case that a video conference is a preferable option to a standard meeting.
Like it or not, meetings are necessary in business. While emails facilitate constant communication with colleagues internationally, the collective face to face communication of a physical meeting is sometimes the only way to reach an agreement. But a video conference replicates the experience of a normal meeting, but with the perk that all participants can contribute from the comfort of their own desks, with all the information and documents they might need at their disposal. In addition, as audio visual conferencing allows users to edit documents while participating in the conference, the exchange of information is possible on more than one level.
The most obvious advantage of having a conference using this technology is that participants save valuable time and money on travelling. Spending half the day on a journey in order to sit in on a two hour meeting seems somewhat pointless when video conferencing technology is an option. This also means that meetings can be organised at the last minute, so if there is a major event that needs to be dealt with, it can be discussed by all the relevant parties at the crucial time. As the UK experiences the problems of the ‘big freeze’ and getting into work poses problems for many of us, this seems particularly valuable. There can be no excuses for non-attendance at meetings when all you need is your computer.
It should come as no surprise to most people, then, that video conferencing is becoming more and more commonplace as a way of bringing people together and sharing information. With the prevalence of skype and video calls in private communication, we are becoming increasingly accustomed to speaking into a screen, and telepresence video conferencing should feel fairly natural to most people. It seems that one day, face to face meetings may become a thing of the past, as audio visual conferencing is surely set to become the norm.

Working as a contractor can be tricky at times. Some contractors who work as contractors find that the busy schedule of a contractor leaves little time to handle the administrative tasks that come with it. If this sounds like you, using a contractor umbrella may be the best option for you, giving you security and the peace of mind of knowing that your payments are in order. In addition, you may want to consider a CIS payroll service, which enables you to receive your payments in the easiest way possible. Payroll services like these are ideal because they are specifically aimed at established contractors, sub-contractors, sole traders and partnerships.
What is usually referred to as CIS stands simply for the Construction Industry Scheme. It generally applies to contractors and subcontractors involved in mainstream construction work. Essentially what happens is, under the scheme a separate company takes on the role of the contractor by fulfilling all the administrative tasks associated with the job. HM Revenue and Customs created the scheme, and those who wish to sign up should first visit the HM Revenue and Customs website in order to be given a Unique Taxpayer Reference Number, without which you cannot participate in the scheme. There is no long term commitment involved in signing up; while some people need a contractor umbrella for a few weeks, others will use their services for a number of years.
Once you have your Unique Taxpayer Reference number, you will be identifiable on the revenue and customs system. The next steps are to provide the number, as well as your name and National Insurance number, to the company you want to register with. The tax rate on those with a UTR is 20%, but 30% for those without it. Finding work and agreeing rates is still up to the individual contractor, as is the end-of-year expenses list. By filling in a list at the end of the year of all the expenses incurred throughout the year, you can offset these against your tax rate.
Those working in the construction industry may wish to sign up with a contractor umbrella for a number of reasons. For many, the simple time-saving element of being on the CIS payroll makes it worth signing up. If you don’t have to go through paperwork to make sure you get paid, you might be able to fit in a trip to the swings with the children, or another pint at the pub. Payroll services are there for you to make the most of – it’s up to you to go ahead and do it.

Nowadays the importance of caring for the environment is the subject of a great number of very high-profile campaigns. document management and document processing are already enormously popular ways to reduce the amount of paper which your office gets through each year and as a result help to sustain the globe’s forests. Invoice processing is another important tool which is becoming more and more common in offices around the world. The benefits of these management and processing systems, however, are not limited to saving the environment or reducing your carbon footprint. These systems can streamline your business and save you money. It is no wonder that they are highly recommended by many office managers.
Some of the most important work that is done in an office is accomplished through team-working and collaboration. A proper document management system can make this aspect of working life far easier and speedier. Documents that would previously have been held on paper can now be edited very easily by multiple users and stored for easy retrieval. This process can free-up office space and allow staff to work more productively. It can also increase office morale because staff members feel their time is valued highly by their employer.
Invoice processing is increasingly used by top businesses to coordinate their payments. This type of system uses intelligent data capture software to greatly speed up the processing of invoices. This is normally a time-consuming and boring task. Scanning invoices into a processing system allows them to be speedily distributed to the relevant member of the accounts department for approval. The shortened period of time in which invoices are processed allows businesses to improve their relationships with their suppliers and to take advantage of early-payment discounts.
This type of processing can also be useful for controlling and planning expenditure. It can help to eliminate human error from the payment process and security and auditing features can be added to the system. It frees up staff time to do more satisfying and interesting jobs to develop the business.
If your business isn’t currently using document processing or invoice processing systems they are well worth investigating. They can help to make your employees’ working days more productive, to reduce overheads and stationery costs, as well as helping to save the environment. document management systems are in use in many top businesses and have been for many years. They are simple and easy to use from the first and are a great way to improve a company’s efficiency and organisation.

When it comes to getting in shape, meeting new friends, and learning a new discipline, there can be few better things to have a go at than London kickboxing classes. Seriously: if you don’t believe me, then you are missing out! I went to a London kickboxing club for the first time about a year ago. I went on the advice of a friend, and also because I was bored, and I have not looked back since then! I enjoyed it so much I wanted to go back the very next day! Since then I went every week, and I started to develop a training program, with the instructor acting as my personal trainer. I have never been so healthy and energetic, and it feels great. I’m sure – in fact I know, since I have been to compete in a few other dojos – that there are many different kinds of kickboxing London clubs can offer, but I suppose I was just lucky to find the one that was just right for me at the first time of asking. If I hadn’t, I guess I would have just decided that kickboxing in general wasn’t for me.
As it is, I have really enjoyed learning about the sport and its origins, and also about the codes of conduct and discipline that you can bring into your everyday life; some meditation and breathing techniques I have learned at Karmaa (my London kickboxing club), for instance, have really reduced my stress levels at work, and helped me to deal with difficult issues involving colleagues. I didn’t beat anybody up, if that’s what you’re thinking!
In fact, Kickboxing has paradoxically made me feel more calm and passive in life. Less like I am struggling against anything and more like I am going with the flow and calmly navigating my way through. It’s funny: before I took up kickboxing, I was seriously considering quitting my job, because I found living in London too stressful. Now I don’t think of it like that, and I don’t think that can be a coincidence.
In London kickboxing classes can be a great way to escape from your job in the city for a while. You get an adrenaline rush, which helps you to relax and sleep better at night. A good London kickboxing club should be able to suit your individual needs – i.e. what it is you want to get out of kickboxing. Through kickboxing London has become a less stressful and more exciting place to live.
